The Mother Behind the Man

The Bible contains the accounts of numerous people of faith whose beginnings were marked by hardship. Such is the case in the opening chapters of Exodus. Perceiving the growing nation of Israel to be a threat, Pharaoh enslaves and oppresses them the people of God. It's in a context of despair that we find a baby boy being born to a courageous and creative mother. Though she will have only a few years with him, this mother's influence on her son will guide him the remainder of his life.
